Mindfulness Meditation Challenge Day Five

I celebrate myself, and sing myself. -Walt Whitman

Welcome to day five of this mindfulness meditation challenge. Before we begin, I want to take a moment to congratulate you on making it half way to the finish line. Celebrate this awesome accomplishment.

And if you’re just starting out on this journey, celebrate the fact that you’re here. Mindfulness meditation is a wonderful gift to the self.

Today’s challenge focuses on three simple words that are some of the most important words to live by. Are you ready?

We are so hard on ourselves. We spend our lives wishing we were more…

More successful, thinner, funnier, wittier, more artistic, more ambitious-and the list goes on.

More. More. More. We are never totally happy with who we are.

We create a kind of infomercial in our minds. It runs over and over-telling us the same story of our faults.

As a result, we find ourselves caught up in the endless cycle of wishing our lives were somehow different.

But in truth, we are “enough” just as we are.

You are exactly where you are supposed to be in this moment in time. You are enough-right here, right now.

Be fully present with who you are-and celebrate it. After all, there’s only one YOU!

You are perfect in this moment simply because you exist.

Today’s Meditation Exercise

Today’s exercise is a simple one. Set a timer. I want you to meditate for 10 minutes using the words “I am enough” as a mantra. Breathe in…”I am enough.” Breathe out…”I am enough.”

You may find that your mind wanders to negative thoughts. Simply bring your awareness back to your breath and the words “I am enough.”

Congratulations on completing day five of this 10 day mindfulness meditation challenge. See you tomorrow!
